Service

“Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

~Martin Luther King Jr.

Service

"contribution to the welfare of others"

Merriam-Webster, n.d.

Everyone has the potential to make a positive and lasting impact in others' lives. Service has no pre-requisites. It doesn't matter how much money you have, how old you are, or where you are from, you have the power to help someone else.

How can you serve others? You can start by simply brainstorming hobbies or topics that interests you. Let's use basketball as an example. If you find pleasure in playing basketball, go volunteer for an after school youth basketball league.

You can also choose to use your unique talents -- whatever they may be -- to create a project of your own. For example, if you enjoy drawing in your spare time, choose to apply your love for drawing by painting pictures for senior citizens. Something as small as a drawing can make a profound impact in someone else's life. And, the best part about service is all it takes is you!
